Tourmaline

Tourmaline is a group of complex silicate metals containing boron, and is known for its multiple colors and uses in jewelry and industry.

Composition Method

Tourmaline consists of several geological environments, the most important of which are:

Crystallization of volcanic magma in granite fire rocks and boron-rich plastics.

Formation in transformed rocks as a result of a hydrothermal shift that recycles boron-rich metals.

Sedimentation in sedimentary environments when tumaline-rich rocks are degraded and deposited in clay and sand deposits.

Composition Environment

Granite and Plastics Firecrackers: Formed in lithium and boron rich pegmatite.

Mutant rocks such as chest and nice: the result of the interaction between boron-rich liquids and host rocks.

Sedimentary environments: River and marine sediments are found as one of the heavy metals resistant to weather factors.

Chemical Formula

Tourmaline has no specific chemical formula because it is a group of minerals with different chemical combinations. The general wording is:

XY₃Al₆(BO₃)₃Si₆O₁₈(OH)₄

Where:

X = Sodium, calcium, potassium.

Y = Iron, magnesium, lithium, aluminum.

Physical Properties:

A set of silicate metals containing boron, featuring multiple colors such as green, pink, black, and blue.

It features 7 - 7.5on a mousse scale and glitter glass.

It has a compact electricity feature, where an electric charge is generated when exposed to pressure or heat.

Crystal Composition

Triple crystalline system. (Trigonal) usually appears in the form of long, leafy crystals with a triple cross-section, and is predominantly longitudinal.

Most important uses

Jewellery: Used as one of the gemstones, it features a variety of colors such as pink, green, blue, and black.

Electronics Industries: Some electrical applications include RA's ability to generate static electricity (compressive electricity).

Geological uses: Used as evidence of boron-rich geological environments.

Optical industries: It is used in some scientific devices to separate polarized light.

Being in Saudi Arabia:

There is no reliable information about the presence of tourmaline in Saudi Arabia.

Top exporters:

Brazil, Madagascar, Nigeria, Afghanistan is one of the largest producers and exporters of turmaline.
